The Nile is the world’s longest river and an elegant cruise on a traditionally styled Golden Boat or dahabeya, historically used by Ottoman officials and favoured by Cleopatra and Julius Ceasar, is surely the most sedate and luxurious way to discover the river’s famous cultural landmarks and world-renown archaeological sites.
The delightful Dahabeya Yakouta with six deluxe cabins is a modern replica of a traditional Dahabeya and it can be booked exclusively for small groups, or the cabins booked individually.
The cruise begins in Esna and highlights include the second largest temple in Egypt, the well preserved temple at Edfu dedicated to Horus, plus the double temple of Sobek and Haeroris at Kom Ombo and the El Silsela Temple. Additionally, scattered along the Nile, there are numerous small islands to visit as well as a Nubian village and a market, before arriving in Aswan and the return sailing to Esna.
