Now's the time to explore the U.S. and Canada on your terms with this tour that's affordable for young travellers. Hit the road for a sensory overload of all the things that make eastern U.S. and Canada pop: skyscrapers, monuments, Niagara Falls, poutine, subways, whales, sunshine, designer boutiques, and natural beauty. On this adventure, you'll settle into our own private vehicle and clock off miles all over New York, Washington DC, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and all points in between. Fair warning: your friends might be a tad jealous.
Day 1 New York City
Arrive at any time.
Towering skyscrapers, flashing lights, and a pulsing energy you can’t quite escape from. First impressions matter so get to know New York City the right way; after dark with your CEO and group. Roam through the crowds, take in the sounds, the smells, and gear up for a good time in the Big Apple. Journey through the Hamilton Heights neighbourhood in Brooklyn in search of the perfect enclave to sip a cocktail, maybe two, and have some laughs with your newest adventure pals.
Day 2 New York City/Washington DC
Today, let history guide you from New York City through Philadelphia. See the room where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were signed in Independence Hall. Get up close to the crack in the Liberty Bell and feel the freedom of America in your veins before zooming down to Washington DC.
Day 3 Washington DC
Spend your day immersed in the Nation's capital with plenty of free time to see the sights. Meander through exhibits at the Smithsonian Museum and along the National Mall, eat something delicious on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and get lost in one of DC's neighbourhoods like Georgetown.
Day 4 Washington DC/Allegheny National Forest
Here, there's no shortage of outdoor recreation, from hiking to birding there's always something new to try. Or if nothing sparks your interest simply close your eyes, take a deep breath and relax amongst the trees and wilderness.
Day 5 Allegheny National Forest/Niagara Falls
Next, get up close and personal with Niagara Falls! Board the Maid of the Mist and feel the strength behind 3,160 tons of water cascading over the falls every second. Try your hand at a local casino and cross your fingers that luck is on your side before heading into Canada. Witness the magical atmosphere and fun light show of Niagara Falls at night.
Day 6 Niagara Falls/Toronto
Today, let the scenery of the Falls melt away as the glass skyscrapers of Toronto rise up to meet you for your next stop. Get to know this multi-cultural city by diving right in. Take a ride to the top of the CN Tower and share pierogis or poutine as you sample your way through this celebrated culinary destination. If you're looking for something a bit different get lost in the vintage boutiques and indie shops of Kensington Market.
Day 7 Toronto
Spend the day as you please. Wander in and out of specialty coffeeshops and clothing stores down Queen St. West, take the ferry over to Centre Island and ride a bike to the beaches along Lake Ontario. Grab a seat at a Blue Jays game to feel the pulsing energy of the Rogers Centre. (Any sports fans out there?) Or pet as many dogs as you want on a walk in Trinity Bellwoods Park.
Day 8 Toronto/Ottawa
Take some time to reflect and relax as you drive to Canada's capital city, Ottawa. Observe the country's history unfold with a visit to Parliament Hill. Grab a taste of the capital as you explore ByWard Market, or rent a bike and head up to Chateau Laurier for a different perspective of Ottawa. But before you go make sure to indulge in a classic Canadian treat – the Beaver Tail! (don't worry, it's not actually from a beaver.)
Day 9 Ottawa/Montreal
Bienvenue à Montreal! Enjoy a brief orientation to this little piece of Europe in North America before heading into the largest French-speaking metropolis in the world on your own. For two nights stay close to all the action in a lively hostel in the city centre.
Day 10 Montreal
Oui, Montreal is a bilingual city so try your hand at pronouncing the name of the city the "French" way. (Mon-real with a heavy emphasis on the "r".) Combine that with a climb up Mont Royal or with a visit to the street-art filled Plateau neighbourhood and your Montreal experience is off to a great start! Feeling adventurous? Reach speeds up to 110 km/h (68 mph) on the Goliath roller coaster at La Ronde amusement park.
Day 11 Montreal/Boston
Cross the border back into the U.S. and travel through some of the most picturesque parts of New England before arriving in historic Boston. The capital of Massachusetts is known for its wacky layout so take advantage of a brief orientation with your CEO to get your bearings before heading out on a spontaneous adventure. Grab a lobster roll or some chowder at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, sip a pint at some of the oldest pubs in the city, and make sure to indulge in some delicious Italian cuisine in the North End.
Day 12 Boston/Cape Cod
There's more to discover in Boston today! Walk along the Freedom Trail for a glimpse into the city's past. Pass by the Boston Common and the gold domed State House. Visit Fenway Park for a ball game, walk the hallowed halls of Harvard University, or hop on a famous Duck Boat Tour. Escape the city as the sun begins to set and head to Cape Cod to set up camp near the ocean.
Day 13 Cape Cod
Take some time to slow down, unwind, and relax on the beach. Hop on a ferry to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket to enjoy life on island time. Want to experience some wildlife? Book an optional whale watching tour and head out on the water.
Day 14 Cape Cod/New York City
Watch the world go by and reflect on your trip as you make your way from Cape Cod to New York City via private vehicle. Today, it's time to say goodbye to your newfound friends as the tour ends on arrival. But don't let that stop you from enjoying one last hurrah! Grab some of your peeps or head off solo to check out the vibrant energy of Times Square, or head to the Central Park Conservatory Garden to find nature in this bustling metropolis. After all, there's always time for one more adventure before heading home.
