DAY 1 - LONDON TO STRASBOURG Travel to Paris by Eurostar before hopping onto a high-speed train to Strasbourg. On arrival, check in at your hotel for your overnight stay. Spend the rest of the day discovering the sights and sounds of Strasbourg. Famous for housing a number of European institutions, this city is filled with plenty of exciting sightseeing opportunities and of course, gourmet delicacies. Visit the Notre Dame cathedral, the 17th century Palais des Rohan, and Petite France, home to Strasbourg's prettiest and most photogenic streets and buildings. (Overnight in Strasbourg) DAY 2 - STRASBOURG TO CHUR After breakfast, catch a train onwards to Basel before connecting on to a local service across to Chur. On arrival, make your way to your hotel and check in for two-night stay. The oldest city in Switzerland, Chur is situated in a deep valley formed by the Rhine, and has a rich and powerful history. Enjoy a wander around the Old Town or visit the lovely Cathedral of the Assumption. (Overnight in Chur) B DAY 3 - BERNINA EXPRESS After an early breakfast, depart from Chur on the Bernina Express to Tirano via St Moritz. The train crosses the Alps and offers breath-taking views from the panoramic carriages. Ride over spectacular viaducts, through sheer rock gorges and switch-back tunnels, alongside mountain streams and glaciers. Be sure not to miss the impressive Landwasser Viaduct, which will appear on your right just before St Moritz. The train climbs up the 2253 metre high Bernina Pass and the entire trip is narrated. Food is available to buy on the train. This whole area is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy lunch in Tirano at the end of the line, or stop a little earlier in Poschiavo which has a lovely choice of cafés and restaurants before returning for your second night in Chur. (Overnight in Chur) B DAY 4 - CHUR TO ZURICH Leave Chur in the morning and travel to picturesque Zurich. On arrival, check in at your hotel for an overnight stay and spend the afternoon exploring this charming city. Explore the old town's classical Swiss architecture, including the stunning Baroque Jesuit church and the medieval Chapel Bridge. Or just enjoy the waterfront by hiring a bike or wandering along the elegant promenade. (Overnight in Zurich) B DAY 5 - ZURICH TO UK After breakfast this morning, head to the airport in Zurich for your flight back to the UK. Prefer to return to the UK via the train?
