DAY 1
Arrive Mumbai, India
Fly from the UK to Mumbai. Upon arrival we’ll take you to your flagship five-star hotel, Taj Mahal Palace. Here over 1,500 staff are waiting to serve you.
DAY 2
Mumbai
Spend the day exploring Mumbai’s classic sights, including the Gateway of India, an 85-foot-high arch reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe. Afterwards, head to the Mani Bhawan, which is dedicated to the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. At Dhobi Ghat, you’ll find the largest open-air laundry in the world. Come evening, enjoy a special welcome dinner and meet your fellow travellers.
DAY 3
Mumbai to Udaipur
In the afternoon, you’ll fly to the city of Udaipur and visit the stunning City Palace, a marble complex that’s offers unforgettable views of the lake and its surroundings. Continue to the Crystal Gallery in Fateh Prakash Palace. Your home here is the Taj Lake Palace, with its magnificent views of the nearby lakes and resplendent royal palaces.
DAY 4
Udaipur
In the morning, visit Delwara and its two temple complexes – Eklingji and Nagda. After lunch, return to Udaipur and stroll through Sahelion Ki Bari (Garden of the Maids of Honour). Later, embark on a private cruise past Jag Mandir, the marble palace on an island in the lake.
DAYS 5-6
Udaipur to Jaipur
This morning, fly to Jaipur and check in to your hotel, the former residence of the Maharajah of Jaipur. The next day, in the morning, view the Palace of the Winds. Proceed to explore the beautiful Mughal-style Amber Fort. This afternoon, enjoy one of these Design Your Day® activities.
Option 1: Visit the Gyan Museum, exploring its private collection of antiques and art.
Option 2: Visit Digantar Vidyalay to interact with the students at an innovative school supported by A&K Philanthropy.
Option 3: Discover the Bazaars of Jaipur, taking in the vibe of local life and shopping.
DAYS 7-8
Agra
Agra is home to the Taj Mahal, an exquisite monument to love. As the setting sun bathes the white marble in a soft orange glow the Taj is at its most beautiful. You’ll return here in the morning to appreciate the effects as sunrise colours it a rosy pink. Visit Agra Fort, once the prison of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who built the Taj Mahal after the death of his beloved wife.
DAY 9
Agra - Panna National Park
This morning, transfer to the airport and fly the one hour to Jaipur. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon at your leisure.
DAY 10
Panna National Park
Rise early this morning and prepare yourself for some action – a thrilling 4x4 game drive. In Panna National Park, you’ll spot crocodile submerged in the swamps and, with any luck, you may even spot the elusive Bengal tiger. With a camera full of close encounters, you’ll return to the lodge for an Indian cooking demonstration. Share safari stories as a local chef prepares delicacies for dinner.
DAY 11
Khajuraho to Varanasi
In Khajuraho, stunning carvings adorn 85 beautiful Hindu and Jain temples. Joy, love, divinity and war are all depicted in fine detail. Things get a little more spiritual as you fly to Varanasi. This inimitable city has over a thousand Hindu and Buddhist temples and shrines. Its famous steps lead down to the holy waters of the Ganges where, at dusk, prayers are chanted to rhythmic drumming, as lanterns drift by in an atmospheric aarti ceremony.
DAY 12
Varanasi to Delhi
Rise early in Varanasi for a private sunrise cruise on the Ganges. This is a great way to see everyday Indian life unfolding along the ghats (steps to the river). Locals and pilgrims alike cleanse themselves, literally and spiritually, in the river’s sacred waters. After enjoying this unique sight, grab your bags. It’s time to fly back to Delhi for the final day of your Indian adventure.
DAY 13
Delhi
Spend your last day in Delhi, visiting the great Jama Masjid, India’s largest and most important mosque. Afterwards, an exciting rickshaw ride will show you the riotous senses and smells of Chandni Chowk bazaar. On a tour of New Delhi you’ll discover the spectacular Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built as a precursor to the Taj Mahal.
DAY 14
Depart Delhi
After one last breakfast, we’ll drive you to the airport for your flight home.
