Boardwalk is a delightful family-run boutique hotel in the middle of a former coconut plantation, just steps from one of the finest beaches on Aruba. The colourful casitas, tropical gardens and plentiful hammocks create a wonderfully happy, laid-back atmosphere, enhanced by the unfailingly friendly staff. On the northwest coast of Aruba, 20 minutes’ drive from the airport and just a few minutes’ walk to beautiful Palm Beach.

Each of the 46 casitas is unique, with a bright, tropical colour palette that is both tastefully executed and irresistibly playful. Each casita has a private patio, air conditioning, hammock, flatscreen TV and WiFi, and most have a kitchenette and barbecue. The unique thatched-roof Palapa Lodge 360 has a wraparound terrace, while the Plunge Pool Casita is a great choice for honeymooners, with its secluded garden, sundeck, private plunge pool and double hammock. There is also a two bedroom casita that offers more space for families.

The Coco Café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and takes inspiration from global cuisines including Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Asian. There is also a good range of vegan and gluten-free options, fresh juices, all day light bites and craft cocktails. For a more exclusive dining experience you can enjoy a private dinner on your patio prepared by Chef Taki, who is equally adept at both storytelling and sizzling seafood on the grill.  

The main pool has a hammock strung across the water and a cocktail bar close at hand, while the Tranquility Pool is secluded amongst tropical foliage and offers a quieter ambience. It’s a 5-minute walk across to Palm Beach, where Boardwalk guests can enjoy beach service and food and drink from the nearby Ritz-Carlton hotel. Watersports are also available here, including windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. Back at the Boardwalk you can enjoy a massage in the treatment room or in the privacy of your own casita, and there is a fitness centre, plus classes in yoga and mindfulness.
