ITINERARY
DAY 1 - LONDON to NAIROBI
Kenya Airways overnight flight from Heathrow to Nairobi.
DAY 2 - NAIROBI
On arrival transfer to the Nairobi Serena in a Standard room for one night.
DAY 3 - NAIROBI to LAKE NAIVASHA
Drive north to the four star Loldia House on the shores of one of Kenya's most stunning lakes, Lake Naivasha. This beautiful colonial house has eight rooms and its style is synonymous with early colonial Kenya. You will see magnificent views of the dormant volcano Mount Longonot and you can take the opportunity to relax, bird watch or enjoy walking. Hippo often graze on the lawn here at night! (approx. 56 miles).
DAY 4 - LAKE NAIVASHA
Remain at Loldia House or visit Lake Nakuru National Park. Here, due to an abundance of algae in the lake, flamingos gather for much of the year. Often you can see a moving mass of pink! (seasonal) Enjoy a picnic lunch overlooking the lake and this spectacular area where other birds also flock, as well as baboons and warthogs. Return to Loldia for the night (approx. 50 miles).
DAY 5 - LAKE NAIVASHA to MAASAI MARA
After a relaxing morning and delicious lunch overlooking the lake, fly by Safarilink light aircraft to the Maasai Mara. Enjoy three memorable nights under canvas at four star Governors’ Camp in a Standard tent by the Mara River. The main dining area and bar are also tented – a great spot for watching elephants, hippos or crocodiles! You may upgrade to the smaller, more intimate Little Governors’ (shown as Governors’ Safari 2 in the price box). Afternoon game drive in the Mara escorted by professional rangers, dinner and overnight.
DAY 6 - MAASAI MARA
Two full days to enjoy the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives searching out the Marsh Pride or Shakira the cheetah in probably the best location in all of the reserve, where all the BBC 'Big Cat Diaries' are filmed.
DAY 8 - MAASAI MARA to LONDON
Morning game drive before your flight back to Nairobi, where you are taken to the Serena hotel for the afternoon (you may wish to prebook a day room here) before your Kenya Airways overnight flight to Heathrow.
