Named for a local Indian tribe, this is a spacious room with pine furniture, a hand-made Mesquite wood headboard and two club chairs covered with Ralph Lauren fabric.
Frontier room
This room has a standing balcony and vaulted ceiling; it's the most rustic lodge room and is the only lodge room with barn wood on one wall.
CABINS:
Cabin rooms have the same amenities as lodge rooms, but are larger than the lodge rooms. Each has a kitchenette (no oven or stove) and private outdoor patio, so breakfast can be delivered.
The Bonanza Trail
A duplex cabin housing the Stagecoach and Black Bart rooms, which are mirror images of each other. These rooms are about 450 square feet and are completely separate. There is no adjoining door between the two; there is a sound wall.
The Black Bart and Stagecoach rooms each have one king bed, a river rock fireplace, TV/DVD, telephone and kitchenette. Each comes with daily maid service and a full breakfast - the cabin rooms are the only guest rooms that can have breakfast delivered.
The Snowshoe Thompson cabin
A beautiful luxury cabin with oriental rugs and Ralph Lauren fabric covering the furniture and curtains. With its three-sided river rock fireplace, it is very romantic and is perfect for honeymoon couples. It has a vaulted ceiling in the living room, while the bedroom and kitchenette have ten foot ceilings accented with log beams. The Snowshoe has a huge bath with two sinks, a two-person Jacuzzi tub and a large walk-in tile shower. Also included are two TVs, two VCRs and a DVD player. It is a very spacious 840 square feet and is for just two guests. Outside there is a private patio. This is our most popular accommodation.
The Sutter cabin
Two bedrooms, one bath, kitchenette and living room. The antiques, trunks, hand-made lamps, large river rock fireplace and vaulted ceiling give this cabin a very comfortable, homey feel. Tucked away in the seating area is a TV and DVD player. It is perfect for two couples traveling together who want to have their own private space to enjoy, though it is more often taken by just one couple. Outside sits a private patio. The Sutter stands at about 900 square feet.
RESTAURANT:
The Restaurant at Black Bear Inn is open to the public and offers patrons an extraordinary culinary experience. The menu is revised each month to take advantage of seasonal produce, always with an eye on local and organic suppliers. Chef Alex has a passion for the artistic and his imaginative use of ingredients fuses old school technique with surprising, delightful twists. His devotion to cuisine results in the impressive quality of each dish.
