ROOMS

72 air-conditioned beautiful rooms and suites. There are six suites. Some rooms have seaside view. Some have balcony. Some superior rooms on the first floor have unusual balcony with a few steps down to a small lawn-terrace with sunbeds on grass amid palms. Delightful. Either twin or queen-size doubles. Many rooms have wooden floors. Most rooms have both bath and a walk in shower. Toiletries are by Roberto Cavalli.The remainder have either bath or walk in shower. Deluxe gallery rooms are on the fourth floor, usually on two floors and have both seaside and city views. All rooms have satellite TV, safe, hairdryer, pool and spa towels, tea and coffee making facilities including Espresso coffee machine, complimentary bottled water and, unusually for Croatia, an ironing board and iron. Décor is stylish using cream shades with darker contrasts. High quality furnishings. Free Wi-fi in rooms and throughout the hotel.

LIVING

The long Imperial lobby bar features black marble in Art Deco style. Extremely stylish. Restaurant Split is grand with high ceilings and candelabras. Extensive à la carte menu and wine list here. Food so good that locals eat here. Guests on half board have waiter service and usually have six choices per course within a three course menu. Pianist plays every evening. The new “glass garden” conservatory is an extension to the restaurant where the four famous big palm trees feature within glass. Light here is so good it feels like an outside terrace but it isn’t. There is a lovely real outdoor terrace with seating, brand new pool and pool bar serving snacks and drinks. Sunbeds here and pool towels.

Priska Spa includes VIP couples’ Jacuzzi, treatment rooms, Finnish sauna, small gym, a little outdoor garden and a salt room with salt-encrusted walls (good for sinus problems). Car park (charged).
